Isaac Moore
Freshman, Bass
It was a blissful August afternoon. The sky was a vibrant blue, spotted with a scattering of thin clouds that seemed to sway in the softest of summer breezes. In the still of the day, a faint buzzing introduced itself to the environment. That rustle, which started as sweet as the hum of a distant nest of honey bees, suddenly began to gain in power and volume.
The sun began to pulse in the sky, emitting a low but not too low rhythm suited for a king's entrance. Coming to a climax, one ray of sun began to grow brighter than any other. The shine was so powerful that the Buffoons, who had gathered at the UMC, collectively sheltered their eyes as if someone had cracked open the ark of the covenant. Despite our best efforts, we all faced temporary blindness.
Following the light came a crash of four distinct ligaments touching down on the Earth’s surface. While in quick succession, we detected firstly the sound of a shoe. Next was clearly a medical boot. The final two landings were more mechanical in sound. The rays of the sun eased, and we began to regain our sight.
In front of us stood a mighty warrior from a kingdom beyond our star system named Isaac Moore. With fire in his eyes, he proudly hobbled towards us and shared with us the story of his injury in battle. We were unsure if we believed him, but he claimed to have nearly wiped out the Oohaba invaders of Choomballa in their attempt to colonize his world of Humdoh.
Well, in any case, the buffoons nursed Isaac back to health, and as we were prepared to see him off back to battle, he told us his days of glorious sun warfare were at an end. With that, we couldn’t be happier to welcome our most recent extraterrestrial to the Buffoons. Sing, bright Isaac, and watch out for mysterious freshman spawning in from a sun ray!
