Auditions

At your audition, you’ll be led into our room by our Business Manager, at which point you’ll be asked to perform a standing backflip. No, wait, that’s not right… SINGING! That’s what we’re here to do. All you need to come prepared with is 30 seconds of your favorite song to sing in the shower, on your way to class, or just to relax. Show us your range and your performance skills. We’ve all been right where you’ve been, so we know the nerves can be intense, but don’t sweat it. We know you’ll blow us away with your voice.

Our group is a little crazy, but in the best possible way. You might be on a one way trip to Broadway, or have the next summer smash cooking in your back pocket, but what we always look for regardless is an unmatched energy. Buffoons are rowdy, out-going, and come day in and day out with a fire to make great music with great people. Show us your inner Foon and be ready to get a little wild in your audition.

While we take all comers for our first round of auditions, there’s only so much time for our callback period. Being a professional group, we move fast, especially at the beginning of the semester. If for some reason we can’t accommodate you in the group this year, we hope you’ll take time to check out our acapella companions in On The Rocks, In The Buff, Mile 21, Extreme Measures, One Note Stand, and On That Note (yes, there are 7 of us on campus). Each has it’s own unique flavor, goals and motivations, and work style. And if you’re really hoping to sign the table at some point and become a Buffoon for life, repeat auditions are more than welcomed. So we hope to see you continuing to sing and maybe even walk back through those doors next year with a new confidence and swagger. Whatever path, remember to keep singing and keep spreading that magic we all love.
